28 Weeks

How far along: 28 weeks!

His size: At last week's ultrasound, he weighed 2 lbs, 8 oz. Our little over achiever is measuring 1 week ahead of me.

Total weight gain: I am just packing it on. I've gained 35 pounds. It's no wonder I feel exhausted lately.

Maternity Clothes: My non maternity pink pj pants, although I'm constantly pulling them up. LOVE my new black maxi skirt and maxi dresses. I have some shorter dresses for lounging at home in. Scarves to mix up the little amount of clothes I do have. I feel so constricted in pants, but I do still wear my skinny jeans to go out in. Still gotta try to look as cute as possible!

Food cravings: Not really craving anything new. Still like the same things. Some days all I want our sweets, sweets, sweets.
Food aversions: Same ol...grilled chicken.

What I miss: Sleeping comfortably, sitting comfortably and getting in/out of the car easily.

Sleep: Well the couch is now my bed. I miss sleeping with my husband.

Symptoms I have: The pain in my legs is still pretty bad, and fatigue settled in 6 days ago. Haven't been able to workout like I was. I can't even push myself. My eyes burn. I feel genuinely wiped out all day long. I still wouldn't trade any of it for all the money in the world.

Stretchmarks: None

Doctor’s Appointment: We had an appointment at 27 weeks. Had another ultrasound. He is BEAUTIFUL! We saw him yawn, suck his arm, move around, got new pics. His bladder was full, his kidneys are good. He is doing great! My placenta moved up significantly. We need it to go up 1 more cm. We'll have another look at 32 weeks. More pics!

Movement: Our baby is strong! He sometimes will make my torso and belly jolt. I watched my belly move for 5 minutes this week while I laid on my side. He makes me laugh.

Best moment this week: Seeing Nick. He visited us for a night over Spring Break.

He's got Daddy's legs

24 weeks

How far along: 24 weeks!

His size: About the length of an ear of corn

Total weight gain: What a splendid question! 26 pounds. The only reason I’m ok with it is because I am exercising and I don’t look like I’ve put on 26 pounds. I’m curious and excited to see how it all comes off.

Maternity Clothes: My non maternity pink pj pants, yoga pants and fitted tshirts are what I’m most comfy in. I dislike very much wearing jeans. Since he’s so low, the band on my skinny jeans gets pushed down by my belly. So I’m constantly pulling them up. But, they look so cute with everything! My black work pants have become quite snug.

Food cravings: I eat more than I have ever eaten in my life. I have to be sure to have a snack with me at all times just in case. I crave sautéed spinach for dinner a lot. Cold apples, cold oranges. I like sweets way more than I used to. I have more control these days vs a month ago of being able to say no. Thank goodness. There was a moment a couple of weeks ago when all I wanted for dinner was molton chocolate cake from Chili’s (the only thing I like from there), powdered donuts, and chocolate chip cookies. I didn’t do it, but I wanted to. I enjoy Mexican food a ton, but I do like to eat a variety of things.

Food aversions: I still can’t bring myself to eat grilled chicken. I like it cooked every other way. I will only eat chunks of grilled chicken in a dish I make with pasta, goat cheese, tomatoes & basil. But please don’t make me eat a plain grilled chicken breast. I wonder if that will change after Baby A comes. I used to eat it for dinner at least 2x/wk.

What I miss: Being able to take a deep breath easily, not getting out of breath so easily, going potty like a normal person, sleeping without pain in my legs, being able to bend over (I use my toes to pick things up if at all possible. I despise dropping things), sitting down comfortably, sitting on the bed comfortably (it's truly amazing how uncomfortable it is to just sit on our bed) and cute clothes. Now why oh why would they come out with the cutest colored skinny jeans ever the one season I can’t wear them? Do I buy a pair in my old size as a goal?

Sleep: Oh to sleep. I don’t sleep well. I pee 4-6 times/night. That started in the very beginning. A month ago, this terrible pain started in my back, and my legs would hurt all night. The back pain went away, but the leg pain is pretty bad. I have a high tolerance for pain and this keeps me up. I am now going from bed to couch to bed to couch to relieve the pain. I use the couch to sit up and sleep. When I’m ready to be on my side again, I go back to the bed. The bed usually lasts an hour or 2 before I need to go to couch again.

Symptoms I have: Well not really any symptoms other than the pain in my legs. This is the best I’ve felt the entire pregnancy and I’m on little sleep. I thoroughly enjoy exercising. It’s not easy to do a push up or chair lift with 26 extra pounds, but I’m working on it! Fast walking on the treadmill is no piece of cake either.

Stretchmarks: None

Doctor’s Appointment: Last appointment was at 22 weeks. His heart beat was 147 bpm. Placenta is low, so we’ll have an ultrasound at the next visit to see if it’s moved up.

Movement: He is busy! At 19 ½ weeks, I started feeling him every day, through out the day. I feel him rolling and punching and kicking all the time. He uses my bladder as his opponent sometimes. I still feel flutter movements. I feel bad that he wakes up a lot of times when I move or go to the restroom during the night. I wonder if he’s a light sleeper. Scott sneezed in the middle of the night SO loud, and he moved. I felt bad for him. I absolutely love feeling him. It still makes me giggle.

Best moment this week: I have 2. 1-Having my husband at home for the first time in a month. We watched Twilight for the first time. We both loved it, although he won’t admit it. 2-Getting Baby A’s room painted. It’s beautiful.

My 2 Romantic's

In the middle of Scott's busy February, we celebrated Valentine's Day. I love Valentine’s Day. Probably because mom always made it so special for us, just as she did every holiday (I still get an Easter basket…and now so does Scott…hmmmm was that my last Easter basket last year?) Well Scott’s definitely a romantic. We may not go crazy on Valentine’s day, but we sure do get mushy with each other. I used to always think I was the one who gave out the best cards. I have met my match. He picks out some pretty awesome cards. So, I wake up on Valentine’s morning, NOT wanting to get out of bed, and the baby just starts going to town. I’d never felt him that much first thing in the morning. It was as though he was telling me Happy Valentine’s Day, Mommy, knowing how much I love this day full of pink and hearts. I had no problem getting out of bed with a huge smile after I told him "Happy Valentine’s Day Baby." I bet he takes after his Daddy…another romantic. Fine with me! I walked out to my car and my first card is on my windshield. Another huge smile. I got pink roses delivered to me at work. Another huge smile. We ate at Bourbon street for dinner…excellent dinner with an excellent Mississippi Mud Pie for dessert (and I don't normally eat dessert). We decided to exchange names for Baby A at dinner. We’d been working on our lists for a few weeks. I had 5 names on my list and Scott had something like 11. He couldn’t have narrowed it down a little? We immediately discussed and marked off some that we just could not live with. We’re down to 9. It looks like we’re going to narrow it down to 2 or 3 and take them with us to the hospital. We would rather wait to meet him. And we’re not sharing til then. :)

oh boy!

On January 21st, our families and some friends joined us for one of the most special moments of our lives. We found out our precious baby is a boy. It was such an amazing moment. Sharing it with those that were there was so special for us. I think it was that much more special BECAUSE we were able to share it with them. Most everyone else thought it was a boy, too. Not too many in pink! We served everyone a drink as they arrived (Scott’s margaritas), and then had the big reveal. The Ultrasound tech wrote the gender on a note card a few days before at our appointment. We opened the note card and saw the ultrasound pic. Everyone was so excited for us. I’m surprised I didn’t cry. I cry about everything. I was just SO happy and on cloud 9. After the big reveal, we ate fajitas from Lupe Tortillas and had cupcakes.

Leave it to Tiff to make everyone laugh. Love Elaina in this one.

It's a boy!!!!!!

We were so happy

The next day Mom, Stina & I went to register at babies r us. Sam took us all out for lunch at Cheesecake Factory, and he stayed a night with us. We missed him so much. It was wonderful to spend this time with him.

So hard to say good bye to this face

17 ½ weeks

I feel this baby movin! It was my first experience to really feel him, and he makes his debut at 1:00 am and at 2:00 am the next night. He was active for about 45 minutes the 1st night and about 20 minutes the next night. Such an amazing sensation! It was making me laugh out loud.

Hi Baby!

I felt this weird sensation at exactly 16 weeks. It felt like a muscle spasm. It was very, very low…right at the pelvic bone to the left. I hear they call that a flutter.

Hello 2012!

New Year's Day Dinner consisted of hummus on crackers, boiled shrimp, goat cheese & avocado crostinis, and gouda & salami in puff pastry. It felt great to have the energy to exercise, shop and cook today! Josh & Dena stopped by for a bite.

2011 Catch Up

Doing a little back tracking since I was super slacker in keeping up with our blog last year and since I started it in March. So we're a tad bit out of order here, but I promise to catch up!

December
Our last picture together of 2011 was taken at Stonewerks. We celebrated new Years eve there with an early dinner. We were the only ones in the bar area, along with another couple that looked to be in there 70’s. I didn’t think it was THAT early. It did fill up as we ate. We went back home to watch The Change Up. Funny movie. As much as I love to watch the Dick Clark Rockin Eve show, I couldn’t make it til 12.

Christmas was so joyful this year. I did think about being in Costa Rica a year ago, but there was no way I was missing Elaina’s 1st Christmas. Plus, riding around Costa Rica at 3 ½ months pregnant would not have been the most comfortable. I will just look forward to taking Baby A there when he’s old enough to learn to surf with his daddy. We went to Christmas Eve mass. So fun to watch Elaina. Two fond memories are of scott playing with her using my scarf, and of Elaina pretending to sing along with the hymnal. Then we went to Ana & Manuel’s to spend Christmas Eve with the Rodriguez’s. We spent an entire Christmas morning opening gifts with the Mascarenhas’. I loved watching Elaina open her gifts. Then we spent Christmas night at Jean Ann’s eating Christmas dinner #2.

Our gift to Elaina was a hit!

Baby A got a teddy bear from Grammie, and Elaina's gift was a "few of her favorite things" for her new cousin.

November
We spent Thanksgiving in Sugar Land. I had morning sickness and extreme fatigue. Didn't stop me from eating one of Dad's famous turkey sandwiches, though.

Playing with Uncle Scotty's watch

October
Brad & Marlene came to visit to celebrate Scott & Brad's birthday. Their birthday gifts were a round of golf at TPC JW Marriott. Pretty cool gift. Unfortunately, they got rained out and decided to go to Lowe's and make life size Jenga.

Hard at work

September
We packed it up and spent a weekend on Lake Dunlap with Mom, Dad, Stina, Houston, Elaina, Grammie & Grandpa. Happy early birthday Scott & Stina!

Uncle Lee & Barney visited us this month. We celebrated an early birthday for Uncle Lee & Scott. Barney treated us to a wonderful meal at Wildfish.

We kicked off Football Sunday 2011 at "Wings" aka Buffalo Wild Wings. We figured it could possiby be our last football season to just get up and go when we wanted. This time, we had an ipad to take with us for Scott's fantasy.

Since I couldn't make Dena's baby shower, I gave her a baby shower for the 2 of us...well, 3 of us if you include Dylan.

Stina & Houston went out of town for Labor Day weekend. So since Elaina was staying the weekend at Mimi's, you know I did too! Then we went to the Hrebenar bay house for one last night to say good bye to the bay house.

August
And there was Jax's Pool Party. In the hot, hot month of August, Brad & Scott wanted to play with Jax and a slip and slide. So this is what they bought... Their kids are going to love them!

Marlene & I celebrated our birthdays at the Fredericksburg Vineyeards. Scott & Brad spoiled us with a limo for the day. Picked us up at 11 and dropped us off at 6.  We had a blast!!! Visited my favorite, Becker, then Grape Creek, then Torre di Pietra.

BF Tiff came to Houston with us for the Katy Perry concert. I do love me some Katy Perry...and some Tiff. We had such a great time!! Started with appetizers at mom's. Scott dropped us off at the Toyota Center. We had wine, chicken tenders, and fries and lots of chit chat and laughter. The show was awesome!!! Floor seats! We went to a hotel by Toyota for a glass of wine after the show while we waited for Scott to pick us up. That night, we got in our pj's and laughed like kids while we looked at our pics and videos. The next day, Scott treated us to a massage at Ansberto's. We had dinner at Houston's and cupcakes for dessert. Grammie & Grandpa came over the next day for a visit before we left.

I had a spectacular birthday. My birthday month :) started with a date night with my husband. We went to BJ's for early dinner, gifts and cards. Then we went to see Friends with Benefits. Love those kinds of date nights with him. He got me some Katy Perry cat eye sunglasses I'd been wanting. :)

July
Celebrated Maddie's 2nd birthday in July. She had a Toy Story birthday. We bought her 1st car.

We spent the 4th at Sito's. Had brunch and mimosas. We love our Sito's.

June
Scott did his first Tour de Cure this month. He rode his bike from San Antonio to Austin for a total of 160 miles. The first day was 80 miles from San Antonio to San Marcos. He rode and I shopped. Spent my day at The Outlet. Spent the night in San Marcos, was treated to a great meal and headed to Austin the next day at another 80 miles.

I put together a block party with my neighbor Dena. It was a success!

1st Annual "Hi, Neighbor" Block Party

March
Mom, Aunt Margie & I spent a Friday at the Antique Weekend in Round Top. Lots of walking, some eating and all kinds of antique stalls. You couldn't possibly see it all in one day.

February
San Antonio had snow this month! What we thought was going to be a snow day, turned in to a "go in to work late day." It melted by noon.

January
We went to Uncle Lee's 1st art display at a Gallery in Dallas. Then we went to Lee & Barney's for ritas and mexican. The drive home the next day was slow & snowy.

Happy New Year! New Year's Day was spent at Sharon's for her annual celebration with mimosas and her infamous sandwiches.
